The masseria is surrounded by olive trees, majestic oaks and graceful fruit trees that link to the charm of the peasant culture. The accomamodation at the masseria consists of a suite and six mini-apartments each decorated differently. All reflect the architectural style that the trullari masters have left us as our legacy. The furnishings in all apartments combine comfort and the needs of the today’s life with the naturalness of rustic life. It is the simplicity and authenticity of the stone that is so widely used in this southern corner of Murgia Apulia (for example for the world famous trulli, the dry stone-walls and so on), that characterizes the entire panorama. For that reason, during your stay, you should not miss trips to Alberobello (known as the capital of the Trulli), to Ostuni (known as La Città Bianca or the white city with its entirely white old town centre), to Polignano a Mare (with its old town perched on a cliff), to Martina Franca (with its baroque art) and lastly to the karst caves of Castellana Grotte. For visitors who plan to stay longer there are further places to visit such as Castel del Monte, Matera (with its famous Sassi cave dwellings - please see the Unesco website), the baroque city of Lecce, Trani (with its Romanesque Cathedral) and Bari (with its Papal Basilica of San Nicola). |
